MANUKAU CRUISING CLUB

PRIZE NIGHT TO-MORROW FINE DISPLAY OF TROPHIES The annual prize distribution and dance of the Manukau Cruising Club will be held in the Orpheum Hall, Onehunga, to-morrow evening, when the prizes and cups which have been won during the year will be presented by the patron, Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P. These prizes have been on show during ti e past week and have been the source of much favourable comment. The value of the prizes alone is over £ 100, and with the addition of 12 cups (Lipton Cup excepted), bring the value

* (By KEELSON) up to the vicinity of £2 50. The Lipton Cup, which was dead-heated for on the Waitemata by the club’s representative, Varuna, is also on show. fee is only 2s 6d, and its boat entry fee 2s 6d, which entitles the boat to a handicap for every race during the season without further fee. There were 28 races for yachts and launches during the season, and about 12 for model >a £2 & 2s, £1 Is, and 10s 6d are the values of first, second and third respectively, usually, but during the past season the value has risen considerably, and some of the firsts were worth from £4 to £5 and the seconds and thirds rose accordingly.
