RAILWAY CONFERENCE

HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS MEET (Special to THE SUNJ WELLINGTON, Monday. On Saturday the general manager of the New Zealand Railways. Mr. H. H. Sterling, called a confernce of heads of departments, with a view to laying the foundations of mutual confidence and to prevent unnecessary duplication of work. The Prime Minister, as Minister of Railways, attended, and assurd the conference that the Government had every confidence in the new general manager. He asked the officers to give the manager all the assistance they could in carrying out railway business.
