BENNO MOISEIWITSCH

CONCERT TO-MORROW A pianist who makes the music he draws from the instrument supreme in every soul in his audience, is Benno Moiseiwitsch, the favourite i'|anist of the day, who commences his season at Auckland Town Hall to-morrow night. Moiseiwitsch comes again under the aegis of Messrs. J. and N. Tait, fresh from triumphs in the world’s capitals. Moiseiwitsch re-creates in himself what he feels to have been the mood of the composer, and it is his wonderful sympathy with the melodic line that immeditely establishes an invisible chord between artist and hearers. Moiseiwitsch provides his listeners with big moments. Tie is a slumbering volcano at times—when the music demands suppressed strength; then the virile artist crashing out his theme. Then the delicacy of haunting music steals from his caressing fingers. Later he is sparkling, evasive, coquettish, piquant; gaiety trips from the keyboard to intrigue. In. short, he is a superb artist who enraptures with his music—in all moods. He is a tone poet and great artist. He is equally at home with Beethoven, Bach, Schumann, Chopin, Debussy, Palmgren, Wagner, Stravinsky, Liszt, Tansig, Medfner, Schubert, Scriabin, Moskowsky, to select a few of the glamorous names that catch the eye as it roves longingly over his programmes. Truly, Benno Moiseiwitsch deserves his triumphs. H<* is in the youthful prime of his marvellous powers. Details of to-morrow night’s great programme of classical and modern musical gems appear in our advertising columns. The box plans (for 7s 6d, reserved seats, only) are at Lewis Eady, Ltd. The prices for unreserved seats are ss, 3s and 2s. There are special concessions to students.
