FORMATION OF RIVAL ASSOCIATION IS PROPOSED THISTLE CLUB’S MOVE Following on tlie resignation of the Thistle Club from the Auckland Football Association, a meeting has been called by members and supporters of the club for this evening to discuss the whole position, and to consider the question of forming a new association. Mr. J. F. W. Dickson, patron of the Thistle Club, said on Saturday it would it would be most difficult, if not impossible, to bring about a reconciliation, and that his club strongly resented the references to it which were made at last week’s meeting of the management committee of the A.F.A. He also says that the Thistle Cltib was lire to form a new association, ana ne had been informed that his club had been approached by others interested to form such an association. NAVY SUPPORTS A.F.A. The president of the Auckland Football Association has received a letter signed by the president and secretary of the Soccer club of H.M.S. Dunedin, assuring the A.F.A. of its support and good wishes, and offering to provide a senior team to meet any club which has a bye in the championship competition. H.M.S. Philomal has also entered a team in the Falcon Cup knock-out competition, which will avert a bye.
