A deputation from the Whangarei j Chamber of Commerce urged the Har- j bour Board yesterday to conserve j wharfage facilities and to encourage ' trade at Onerahi pending the develop- [ ment of the harbour scheme at Kiore- < roa, on a site on the town side of the j harbour, and adjacent to the main j line from Auckland. The board is approaching the Rail- j way Department to secure its co-opera- l tion in maintaining the Onerahi Wharf i by provision of rolling stock to convey ; exports. . I The board decided to secure more in- | formation before finalising its scheme.
