TE PUKE SCHOOL
NEW COMMITTEE ELECTED The Te Puke School Committee held its first meeting on Thursday night, when Messrs. A. Barrow, J. Courtney, H. Butcher, F. Palmer, R. Warnock, H. Washer, R. Urquhart, T. Tanner and W. Knight, the nominated candidates, who were not elected at the householders’ meeting, owing to the poor attendance, were duly elected. M.r. H. Washer was appointed secretary and Mr. W. O. Knight chairman. A letter was read from the Education Board accepting the tender of Mr. T. .E. Palmer for the erection of a dental clinic in the school property. The work will be commenced early this month. Mr. J. Patterson, contractor for the levelling of the school grounds, has nearly finished the work. The committee decided to visit the grounds on Friday and complete the original scheme of tree-planting and erection of swings and slides for the infants.
