ATTEMPT TO BURN AUCTION ROOM Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The police' report that a deliberate attempt was made to burn down a building used as an auction room in Good Street, Rangiora, on Thursday evening. A heap of inflammable rubbish had been placed at the rear of the building, and ignited. When discovered. th© wail was burned through, and the flames were spreading.’ A police constable and a passerby extinguished the flames with sacks. Three weeks ago an attempt was made to burn down some auction yards in the same town owned by the Farmers’ Co-operative Association.
