“HABIT BECOMING MENACE” COURT’S SERIOUS VIEW (Special to TUB SUN) WANGANUI, Wednesday. In the police court to-day, before Mr. S. L. P. Free, S.M., Senior-Sergeant Eopdell said that representations had recently been made to the Minister of Justice regarding the frequency of the offence of taking cars, and the Punishment not being sufficient. The Minister had replied that the punishment lay in the hands of the court. He asked this to be taken into account when dealing with William Flail, who was charged with unlawfully converting a motor-car to his own use. failing to give information to the Police in regard to the identity of the driver of the car, ancl with driving without a licence.
