YESTERDAY’S BRIDES

ADAMS—JOHNSON I The wedding of Aliss Gwendoline I Alinnie Johnson, elder daughter of the Rev. H. Johnson and Airs. Johnson, of i Allenby Road, Devonport, to Air. Arthur Adams, second son of All*, and Airs. J. Adams, of Green Lane, was celebrated yesterday morning in the Alount Eden Congregational Church. The bride’s father, the Rev. H. Johnson, performed the ceremony assisted by the Rev. Lionel Fletcher. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. Eric Johnson. For her wedding frock the bride chose ivory charmeuse fashioned with an over-dress of cream georgette, handembroidered, and trimmed with silver beads. Her veil, which formed a train, was of Brussels net and was caught to each side of the head with small clusters of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet composed of white flowers. Aliss Elsie Phipps and Aliss Nance Harcourt, of Christchurch, were bridesmaids. Their frocks were of Naples blue georgette, the skirts of which were petalled with bands of shell-pink ring velvet revealed through each petal. A posy of silver and pink flowers ornamented the shoulder, from which hung silver streamers. Head-dresses of petalled tulle edged with pink rosebuds were worn, and white tulle muffs trimmed with pink flowers .were carried. Air. Albert Hill attended the bridegroom as best man, and All*. S. Robinson was groomsman.
