WAIPA RUGBY UNION

(From Our Oxen Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday. At the weekly meeting of the Waipa Rugby Union on Monday, Mr. Mairs reported that the Opunaki Union had offered £ls toward the cost of sending a Waipa rep. team to play Opunake reps at Opunake on June 16. He had replied that the date was unsuitable, but he thought the offer would be repeated at a later date. Discussion arose over registration of players, it being stated that one club had already played a newcomer without submitting his clearance to the union. It was decided to ask the club for an explanation. It was decided to play a junior subrepresentative game on Saturday as a curtain-raiser to the Putaruiru v. Waipa match. Mr. W. Whitton was appointed manager of the junior representative team which visits Cambridge next Saturday.
