GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO OPEN WINTER SHOW

VISIT TO MANAWATU (Special to THE SUN) PALMERSTON N., To-day. The Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, and Lady Alice Fergusson will attend the Manawatu and West Coast winter show next week, the function being officially opened by his Excellency on the Thursday afternoon. Their Excellencies will be the guests of the Association at luncheon and also at dinner in the evening, and Sir Charles will attend a smoke concert at night. The Plunket Society will entertain her Excellency the same evening at a social.

The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, will also be a visitor to the show. It is anticipated that Mrs. Coates will accompany him. Girl Guides will form the gu d of honour to the Governor-General on his arrival.
