TRAFFIC TROUBLES
Sir, — The fell disease of municipal muddling appears to be spreading without the bounds of the city and infecting the administrators of Newmarket civic affairs. What a humiliating spectacle it is for the people of the prosperous borough to see the Mayor—determined but alone—explaining why he has lost the support of eight of his nine councillors! And all over where the trams should stop. Newmarket has grown with the city, and to some extent on the city, and now it is figuratively playing diabolo with the city’s traffic outlet—tossing tram stops from one end of Broadway to the other. The best suggestion yet seems to be to let the ratepayers have another try at selecting the men who will get the job done. NEWMARKET.
