Recently two such peddlers were arrested on complaints of farmers that their battery dope” was useless. The two were arrested after peddling a preparation for electric home-lighting plants which they guaranteed would make old batteries as good as new, and for which they charged 48 dollars. The complaint stated that the salesmen claimed that when their solution

iras applied to the old batteries, and t'hich was known as the Oxo treatnent, it would prolong the life of the •attery for a couple of years. The so- □ tion was supposed to have qualities

which would prevent sulphation and ’orrosion of connections, thereby makng it unnecessary to charge the batteries so often.
