SLOW BUT SURE PROGRESS
CHEV.’S 10,000-MILE TRIP Doggedly worming its way northward, the Chevrolet expedition, which started from Capetown. South Africa, in March on a 10,000-mile tour to Stockholm, Sweden, is making slow, but definite progress through swamps and over the trail that some day will be “the great north road” connecting South Africa with Europe. Radio'messages flashed from the expedition have been picked up and forwarded to General Motors South African Ltd., sponsors of the tour. The tourists have encountered heavy rain:*, which, in South Africa, mean swollen streams and obliterated roads. Never before has such an arduous trip been undertaken in light stock cars, but reports from the expedition indicate amazing motor performance under terrific strain.
