The Merry Five Orchestra supplied the music, and Mr. Rovbotham was M.C. Miss HI. Wright and her partner won the spot waltz, and the Monte Carlo prize went to 3XI ss V. Hull and part- | ner. bliss Ivy MacClure, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John MacClure, of Ohura. was the guest at a farewell party given by me staS of ALessrs. Hailiwell, Horner. Thompson and Xorth, solicitors, of X>w Plymouth, where she has been employ*ea for some time. The event tooh place at 3Xr. Horner's private residence. where an opportunity was taker, to present Miss MacClure with a gold wrist watch, in appreciation of her services over several years. The guest, who was also presented with a dainty bouquet of blue irises and asparagus fern by the women members of the staff, will take up residence with her | parents at Ohura. Decorated with evergreens, in which the school colours were skilfully displayed. the Ongarue Town Hall presented a charming appearance on the ■; occasion of the masked plain and fancy dress ball arranged by the 31 an gatepoto School Committee in ala of its ; funds. The 'Sawdust Orchestra* * supplied the music, and Mr. J. Stubbing, chairman of the school committee, was MIC. Competitions were won as follow: —Lady's best fancy costume, Mrs. I L.
