THE MANGERE CLUB
The balanc© sheet submitted at the annual meeting of the Mangere Bowling Club, held last evening, showed a profit on the year’s working of over £4O, reducing the club’s overdraft to £126. The annual report showed that a profit of £23 had been made on the various club tournaments, and dealt fully with the club’s activities for the season just closed. Keen interest had been displayed in the various club competitions. These were won as follow's: Club championship, Mr. Hollier; handicap pairs, Messrs. Hunt and Scown; first year’s championship, Mr. Scown; Saturday percentage fours, Messrs. Ravn, Litchfield, Massey, Prangley; pairs tournament, Messrs. Nicholls and Stephenson. The report showed that 11 new members had joined the club, bringing the total up to 45. A donation was received from Mr. L. J. Sigley for a handicap singles competition. The election of officers resulted as follows; Patron, Mr. James Robertson; president, Mr. Clark, re-elected; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Knight and S. W. House; secretary, Mr. Reg. Prangley; assistant secretary, Mr. D. Studd; treasurer, Mr. Kay; committee, Messrs. W. W. Massey, J. Hollier, T. Scown, A. Newson, Hodges and G. Laslett; Match Committee, Messrs. McNeely, J. Sommers, R. Prangley. Grainger; green -superintendent, Mr. W. Knight; assistant green superintendent, Mr. Hollier; delegates to the centre, Messrs. Clark and Knight: auditor, Mr. Ken Kay.
