“QUALITY STREET”
Marion Davies is the star in "Quality Street,” Sir James M. Barrie’s story, which will be shown at the Britannia Theatre to-night. Miss Davies plays the role of Phoebe Throssel. who imagines that Dr. Valentine Brown is on the point of proposing to her. When the doctor calls the next day Phoebe is in a flutter of excitement, but instead of declaring himself the
young doctor has come to tell her that he has enlisted and is going to the wars. During the ten years that elapse hard times come to Quality Street, and the Throssel sisters have to open a little school. Phoebe has lost her youth and when, after Waterloo and the end of the war. Captain Brown comes home
and calls upon her with the intention °* asking her to marry him, he finds her an old maid in cap and spectacles. “The Thirteenth Juror.” a dramatic story starring Francis X. Bushman, will also be shown.
