(From Our Overt Correspondent) HAMILTON, Thursday. AN AT HOME The Claudelands Ladies’ Guild had its first “At Home” this winter on Thursday afternoon in the Claudelands Hall. Mrs. H. Hammond, pianist, Miss Helen Haywood, ’cellist, and Miss Isabel Leek, violinist, grave much encored trios, and Mrs. Boyd and Miss Moule sang several songrs. Among those present .were Mesdames H. Valder, Cowie, H. T. Gillies, R. Barnett, W. Murray, Course, G. Russell, Harold Baker, Hooker, Hunter (Whangarei), C. Reece, Speedy, Whitton, F. Snell, B. Griffiths, Haywood, Barugh, Hewlett, Atkinson, Rollo, S. Simmons, H. Hammond, R. Clark, Curling, P. Snell, Misses Newell, Robbie, H. Haywood, I. Leek, Daldy and Moore (lion, secretary). BRIDGE PARTY A very jolly bridge party was held at the Lyceum Club last evening. The lounge was decorated with big bowls of autumn foliages and lilies. Among those present were Mesdames H. G. Greenslade, P. Stevens, T. B. Insoll, A. Haseler, E. Gresham, Hobbins, Watkins (Wellington), H. J. McMullin, L. Shepherd, A. E. Cox, M. Coventry. A. Beale, Brewer, W. Horton, Shaw, W. Tanner, Johnson, H. Fergusson, Walders, J. Chitty, F. Peacocke, J. D. Smith, Campbell, W. Ross, Martin, G. Buckland. Hodgkinson, Cracknell, Vere Chitty. Bertenshaw, Staples, Magnus Johnson, H. T. Gillies, Pejnberton, Misses A. Bourke, M. Hodgson, B. Direnzy, R. Eggleston, G. Eggleston, E. Madeley, E. Wright, B. Johnson, M. Stevens, Brewer, O. Rowe, F. Jolly. KITCHEN TEA Ye-sterday afternoon Mrs. Roy Kemp gave a gay little party for Miss Helen Taylor, who is shortly to be married. All the guests brought presents for the future bride’s kitchen. An amusing competition was won by Mrs. L. Tompkins. Mrs. Roy Kemp received her guests wearing a becoming frock of mist blue. Miss Taylor was in a chic tailored suit of beech brown, and a smart little hat. The other guests were Mrs. L. Tompkins, Mrs. A. English, Mrs. B. Wake, Mrs. H. Hammond, Mrs. Wynne Gray, Mrs. E. Day, Mrs. Colin Taylor, Mrs. N. Holden, Miss E. Hammond, Miss B. Hunter and Miss C. Hunter. AFTERNOON TEA Mrs. H. J. McMullin gave an informal afternoon tea party for Mrs. H. Mackay, who has recently come to Hamilton from Auckland. Mrs. McMullin was in a becoming rust-coloured frock, and Mrs. Mackay had chosen a very pretty navy blue ensemble. The other guests were Lady Cooper, Mrs. Magnus Johnson, Mrs. W. Pountney, Mrs. J. F. Strang, Mrs. Exby, Mrs. J. D. Smith, Mrs. A. R. Ward, Mrs. Howard Hammond.
