MUTUAL CLUB AT HOME

Autumn flowers and foliage in a variety of bright tones made effective decoration in the Mutual Club Rooms, in Palmerston Buildings, last evening, when the members held a very successful at home. Mrs. O. Brett, the president, who welcomed the members and their friends, wore a smart gown of black mariette, with an attractively embroidered ivory shawl. Mrs. Von Sturmer, the honorary secretary of the club, was wearing a black georgette gown under an Oriental embossed wrap. The Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C., patron of the club, was present, and during the evening he congratulated the members on the splendid progress made by the club, and expressed the hope that it would continue to grow as quickly as it had done during the short time of its existence Sir Frederic Lang, M.L.C., was a visitor, and Mrs. N. E. Ferner, who wore a gown of opal blue georgette, was also present. An excellent musical, vocal and elocutionary programme was contributed by the following artists: Miss Mavis Grevatt, Miss HagueSmith, Miss Thompson, Mr. C. A’Deane, Mr. Richardson, Mr. Crowther and Mr. Grevatt. Among those present were: Mrs. S. McGregor, wearing a frock of lacquer red georgette and gold lace. Mrs. S. Allen, in black ring velvet and a gold brocaded wrap. Mrs. Hutchings, black velvet with gold relief. , Mrs. Markwick, geranium rose and black georgette faconne frock. Mrs. Warnock, silver and black embossed metal cloth frock. Mrs. Gill, frock of black georgette. Mrs. Crump, fock of black taffeta. Mrs. J. Fuller, beaded frock of black georgette. Mrs. Kelly, deep rose georgette frock with silver stitchery. Mrs. Gardner, frock of cerise georgette. Mrs. C. Savage, sequined frock of black georgette. Mrs. Rainger, black frock of Chantilly Mrs. Browning, black georgette frock with peacock blue shawl. Mrs. J. Macklow, sequined frock of black chiffon. Mrs. Hicks, silver beaded frock of black georgette. Mrs. Walker, rose blush georgette inset with lace. Mrs. Weetman, frock of pompadour rose georgette. Mrs. M. Carte Lloyd, pale gold georgette frock panelled with lace. Mrs. Mason, frock of black ring velvet. Mrs. Irwin black georgette frock. Mrs. Chalmers, black frock of silk lace. Mrs. L.
