TENNIS DANCE
NGATIRA CLUB The annual dance and prize-giving ceremony of the Ngatira Tennis Club was held in the Click Clack Cabaret, last evening. The cabaret was attractively decorated and the softly-shaded lights threw a glow of rosy colour on the place. An excellent orchestra found it difficult to cope with the enthusiastic demand for encores. In the absence of the patron of the club, Mr. E. PI. Potter, the cups won in the singles and doubles championships during the year were presented by Mr. P. Surman, the club president. Miss J. Croft and Mr. A. Birkenhead were the winners of the singles, and the doubles trophies went to Mrs. P. Surman and Mr. O. Cordes. Mrs. P. Surman, the president’s wife, wore an attractive gown of silver beaded peach-pink georgette. Among those present were: Miss M. Croft, wearing a black ring velvet, frock with panels of satin. Miss Bullimore, nasturtium yellow chiffon velvet frock with ivory lace hem. Miss B. Cordes, frock of wistaria purple georgette. Miss M. Johnson, powder blue taffeta frock hemmed with silver lace. Miss Cameron, black georgette frock with appliqued petal trimming. Miss Young, frock of mignonette green georgette over silver tissue. Miss V. Derham, naples blue georgette frock. Miss A. Nolan, silver tissue frock with leaf green chiffon skirt. Miss C. Dilger, turquoise blue frock of crepe de chine. Miss M. Dilger, rose du barri taffeta frock. Miss I. Marshall, rose lustre frock of crepe de chine. Miss Cann, mist blue georgette frock banded with silver tissue. Miss C. Wood, gentian blue georgette with sequin embroidery. Miss D. Gordon, canton jade georgette frock inset with gold lace. Miss Nops, flounced frock of pale gold taffeta. Miss Leech, tulle-frilled frock of lime green georgette. Miss J. McGowan, frock of iris mauve georgette. Miss M. Arns, willow green frock of satin faconne. Miss T. Robertson, frock of embossed tissue and scarlet taffeta. Miss N. Niven, rose blush -frock of crepe de chine. Miss B. Nash, apple green frock of chiffon velvet. Miss C. Hulme, frock of primrose georgette over silver lame, gold relief. Miss M. Taylor, peach pink taffeta with Miss T. Smith, primrose yellow satin frock with ankle-length skirt of black tulle. Miss Ritchie, geranium rose satin with insets of silver lace. Miss-J. Croft, frock of jade green and silver tissue and chiffon. Miss W. Barnes, naples blue taffeta frock. Miss S. Miller, rose and opal sequined frock. Miss B. Webber, lavender shot taffeta frock. ~ _ .
