WELL-CONDUCTED HOTELS
MANUKAU LICENCES “I am pleased to know there is no adverse report on the conduct of the hotels in the Manukau licensing district,” said Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., who presided at the annual meeting of the Manukau Licensing Committee in the Onehunga Courthouse at noon to-day. “It comes as a pleasant surprise to me after the last two meetings I have had in other districts.” The other members present were Messrs. J. Rowe, W. H. Gavin, W. J. Wallace and T. H. Pardington Applications for transfer of the Panmure Hotel was granted from William John O’Dowd to Hugh McNaughten, and from the trustees of Ellen McKewen to Ernest Montgomery for the Post Office Hotel, Onehunga. Re-issue ©f licences was granted to G. W. T. Daniels, Exchange Hotel, Onehunga; A. N. McQuilkin, Manukau Hotel, Onehunga; Hugh McNaughten, Panmure; Ernest Montgomery, Post Office Hotel, Onehunga; J. H. Evans, Club Hotel, Onehunga; Ruth A. Bergman, BUerslie Hotel; and John William MacDonald, Prince Albert Hotel, Onehunga.
