DOCTOR DISCHARGED
NO POLICE EVIDENCE PATIENT POISONED (United P.A.—By Telegraph Copyright) Reed. 10.30 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. In the Parkes poisoning case, Dr. Barton was discharged, the police having no evidence to offer. A Sydney cablegram of May 11 read as follows: A charge of manslaughter has been preferred against Dr. Barton in connection with the deata of Mrs. Cross, of Parkes, who died as the result of taking a mixture meant for a tonic, in which the doctor said he had inadvertently put a poisonous drug in mistake for quinine.
