BUSES AND FERRIES
CONNECTION COMPLAINTS REPORT TO LICENSING AUTHORITY Reporting to the No. 2 (North Shore) Motor-Omnibus Licensing Authority at its meeting last evening, Inspector H. Reynolds, traffic inspector at Devonport, stated that he had inquired into the running of the various companies and found that sufficient time was allowed to permit passengers to reach the ferry boats in comfort, but that bus drivers had got into the habit of waiting for passengers at side streets. At intersection -stops time was lost. Insistence on stops only at the fixed stopping places would eliminate the complaints of late arrival at the wharf which had been made to the board. Omnibus licences were renewed for Messrs. Moverley and Purdy and Messrs. Lynch and Halliday, at Birkenhead, and the Waitemata Bus Company (four vehicles) at Northcote; seven additional drivers’ licences were granted. __________
