KEG PARTY GOES WRONG
“HOST” SEVERELY INJURED STRUCK ON HEAD WITH ROCK FIREMAN’S VIOLENT ASSAULT Hostility instead of social amenity met William Bruce, aged 26, when he and a woman friend went to call on a fellow-fireman. Bruce pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a charge of assaulting Kurt Bjorkbom. Chief-Detective Hammond said that the accused, who had suggested a keg party, called at complainant’s house, but was denied admittance. He kicked the door panel in, and then struck Bjorkbom on the head with a rock. Mr. J. J. Sullivan, who appeared for Bruce, said that his client had been assaulted first by a woman in the house. Bruce was ordered to pay £ 3 hospital expenses and other costs amounting to £2 10s.
