BUSINESS TRAIN

NINE DAYS’ TRIP MANUFACTURERS MEET

The general committee of the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association met yesterday, Mr. G. Finn presiding. Information about the businessmen’s special train, which will make a tour of the North Island from October 26 to November 4, was received from the secretary of the Chamber of Commerce. The President: It’s an extremely cheap trip. How they can provide a nine days’ trip for £lO I don’t know. The president and the secretary were appointed to represent the association on the trip. The Department of Industries and Commerce wrote stating that the Haymarket Stores, London, which carried a comprehensive stock of New Zealand products, was prepared to send parcels of £1 value, carriage free, to any address in Great Britain. The offer of Mr. W. D. Muir to act as honorary organiser for the association in a provincial campaign was accepted.
