CARDS AND DANCING

LABOUR PARTY SOCIAL AT OTAHUHU On Monday evening, the Otahuhu branch of the New Zealand Labour Party held a successful euchre and dance party in the Otahuhu Public Hall. The following were the prizewinners in the card tournament:—Mrs, Landie 1, Mrs. Dando 2, Mrs. Ellis 3; Mrs. W. Baxter 1, Mr. W. Taylor 2, Mr. J. Best 3. For the dancers, Tidmarsh’s Orchestra supplied an excellent programme of attractive numbers. During the evening, several competions were held, which added to the interest of the function. Prizes were awarded to the following: Spot waltz: Miss Graham and Mr. Haggett. Jazz competition: Miss Walsh and Mr. J. Elliott, Schottische: Mr. and Mrs. Blackburn. Monte Carlo waltz: Miss Wignell and Mr. Blackburn. Supper was served by members of the women’s committee.
