IN FANCY DRESS
ST. LUKE’S GUILD TE KUITI FUNCTION The Parish Hall, Te Kuiti presented an animated appearance on the occasion of the annual fancy dress ball, held under the auspices of St. Luke’s Girls’ Guild, on Monday evening. There was a. large attendance, the majority appearing in fancy costumes. The hall was gaily decorated with coloured lights, streamers and balloons. Swift’s Dance Band, which was accommodated on a platform in the centre of the hall supplied delightful dance music. An enjoyable supper was served in the annexe, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr. H. Douglas. Extras were contributed by Miss Sybil Wood and Mr. Fitzer. Visitors were present from Auckland, Hamilton and Waitomo. Among those in fancy costume were:—Misses P. Wilkins, Great Grandmamma; L. Jackson, Red Riding Hood; Leitch, Victorian Dress; Eason, Early Victorian; M. Somerville, Arabian Bride; N. Riley, Gipsy Fortune Teller; N. Davenport, D. Rothery, K. Rothery, M. Sheehan, I. O’Sullivan, Mrs. Mainland (“Pertinet,” 1,2, 3,4, 5,6!); Misses N. Jordan, Art Student; J. Davidson, Gipsy; I. Adams, Hawaiian; J. Pettigrew, Early Victorian; King, Page Girl; Mesdames Turner, Fuschia; Cameron, Moriana; Mrs. Dinsdale and Mr. W.
