MOTHERS’ PROTEST
SALE OF SCHOOL SITE OPPOSED PLAY ASSOCIATION’S ACTIVITIES A protest against the proposed sale of the Nelson Street School site was voiced by a deputation from the Southern Cross League before the Prime Minister yesterday. The protest came chiefly from the mothers of the district who possessed a decided antipathy to the operations of the Play Association, because it brought children out in the evenings. Mr. Coates pointed out that the question was one first for the Education Board, and secondly for the Minister of Education.
