OLD MAN ROBBED

COWARDLY ATTACK AT COTTAGE DOOR Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Wh'ile unlocking the door of his cottage on Friday evening, Egsto Brunie, aged 60, was attacked by two men and robbed of £l9 10s. Brunie lives in Austin Place, a blind alley off Manchester Street North, and as he was opening his door, one of the men seized him by the throat dug his knee into the small of his back and pulled him down. B.runie tried to call out, but a hand was held over his mouth while his pockets were searched. The two men then bolted. A storekeeper in the neighbourhood saj's that he noticed two strange men loitering round his shop earlier in the evening.
