ATHLETICS IN DOMAIN
TWO-MILE STEEPLECHASE HANDICAPPED MEN WIN Big fields and fine finishes were features of the athletic events held under the auspices of the Auckland amateur club at the Domain on Saturday. The steeplechase was won by men with heavy handicaps, but the finish was excellent. Results: Technical College Old Boys’ Steeplechase (two miles). —A. B. Brown (40 secs), 1; J. Green (50secs), 2; J. Crum (93secs), 3. King George Handicap (75 yards).— Roper, 1; Meredith, 2; Bond, 3. Time. Ssecs. Putting the Shot.—S. Sheath, 1; O. Dunlop and R. S. Kirkwood equal 2; G. R. Metcalfe, 3. Distance 33ft 6in. Throwing the Discus.—O. Dunlop, 1; G. R Metcalfe, 2; N. Nilsen, 3 Distance, 98ft 3 inches.
REP. WING INJURED C. E. W. Macintosh, the representative Rugby threequarter, was hurt on Saturday, and could not play at Hamilton to-day. His place in the Auckland team was filled by Minns.
