BREEDERS’ ASSOCIATIONS MEET At the annual meeting of tlie New Zealand- Milking Shorthorn Association on Thursday, the following officers were elected-President, Mr. J. Bateman (Invercargill).; vice-presidents, Messrs. E. Wall (Hastings) and A. H. Mason (Feilding); lion, treasurer, Mr. R. D. Duxfield; auditor, Mr. C. W. Armstrong. It was decided to hold the next half-yearly meeting in Palmerston North’ during, the Royal Show in January. Hie' next annual meeting will be lipid in Hamilton. . Mr. H. J. Marehant (Taranaki) was re-elected president of the New Zealand Friesian Association at the an-' filial meeting •in Hamilton on Thursday. Other officers were:—Vice-presi-dents, Major R. A.'. Wilson and Mr. E. M. North; council, Messrs. H. J. Marchant, J. Hart (Tatuanui), H. Jolly (Waiuku),. and J. MeAnulty (Ashburton); auditor,. Mr. H-. R. Revell. The statement of accounts showed the total expenditure to be £3,274. The balance sheet shows the total liabilities to be £3,742'; and the assets include £762 to Bank of New Zealand; current account, £1,1*25 to Wellington Investment Co.; £343 to Post Office Savings Bank, and £1,281 to sundry debtors. The report and balance sheet were adopted. . Y * . The first annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Pigbreeders’ Association was held on Thursday, Mr. F. Discombe (Hautapu) being, elected president for the ensuing year. Other, news officers are:—Vicepresidents, Messrs. A. R.’Clarke (Hamilton) and C.’W. Anderson (Auckland) ; executive committee, Messrs. L. W. Bolton (Helensville), A. Matthews (Whangarei) and Ross Brothers (Te Puke) ; lion, secretary, Mr. A. W. Green (Hamilton). The rainfall in Hamilton for last month Was one of the heaviest on record. Rain measuring 9.23 in fell on 23 days. The maximum fall was 2.10 in on tlio 13th. • * * In Mav there were 57 births in Hamilton. 22 deaths and 20 marriages. Last year's figures were 3S births, IS deaths and 20 marriages.
