FAMOUS TENNIS VETERAN
•yORMAN BROOKES, the famous Australian lawn tennis player, hero of so many thrilling struggles at Wimbledon, Has decided to forsake the singles game. “I nm too old now for singles/' he declared the other day. B-*ookfs is 51, but is still playing tennis which is the envy of hundreds of young aspirants tc fame. He has lost his speed, of course, and his stamina is not what it was, but he is still a most finished player. He won the singles championship at Wimbledon as long ago as 1914.
