MATCHES AT PAKURANGA At the winter shoot of the Auckland Gun Club held at Pakuranga, 19 shooters, including visitors from Hutt Valley, Whangarei, Hikurangi and Hamilton, took part in the competitions and all spoke highly of the grounds, which, when completed, will be among the finest in the Dominion. The first match of seven clay birds was divided by W. E. Grant (15yds) and S. Hodge (14yds), with the possible. The chief match for Mr. C. H. Drysdale’s handsome trophy provided a most exciting contest. A. Dobson (33 yds), F. H. Seccombe (27yds), and W. G. Rae (27yds), tied with the possible of eight. They divided the stakes and shot off for the trophy. Dobson missed the tenth bird and Seccombe the twentieth, Rae getting his bird and winning.
The visitors spent a most enjoyable day and congratulated the officials on the manner in which they carried out their duties.
