DRIVERS CLOSE CALL SEQUEL IN POLICE COURT (From Our Own Correspondent) WHANG AREI, Saturday. James Henderson, a milk carter, had a narrow escape from serious injury last nigh on the Kamo Road, Whangarei, when a light motor-lorry crashed into his milk cart in the dark. His horse injured, the cart was crumpled up and Henderson was shaken and bruised. Richard W. Jones, the driver of the lorry concerned in the accident, appeared before Mr. C. H. Chissell, J.P., this morning, charged with being intoxicated whil in charge of a motorvehicle. He was remanded to appear before the magistrate. It was stated that there would be a large number of witnesses for the defence, and it would also be alleged that the milk vehicle was not properly lighted.
