BITTER TWO-DAY DEBATE IN UNION ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE TO INQUIRE (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Axistralian Press Association) Reed. Noon. CAPETOWN, Friday. A bitter two-days debate in the Assembly arose out of the Auditor-Gen-eral surcharging the Minister of Posts with £231 for the use of a motor-car for private purposes, which the Prime Minister, General Hertzog, subsequently condoned. * The Leader of the Opposition, General Smuts, to-day regarded the allegation against the Auditor as most grave, and demanded a judicial inquiry. General Hertzog offered a committee of Parliament to inquire, which the Opposition accepted.
