KNOCKED DOWN BY CYCLE
WOMAN’S DEATH TWO SCHOOLBOYS CONCERNED INVERCARGILL, Friday. The death on May 13 of Mrs. Jane Rankin Stobb, aged 69, who wa.s knocked down by a bicycle on which were two schoolboys on May 1, formed the subject of an inquiry before the coroner, Mr. G. Cruickshank, to-day. Medical evidence showed that deceased received a fracture at the base of the skull. She partially recovered consciousness for a few days, then lapsed into unconsciousness and died of heart failure. The coroner returned a verdict that deceased died from a fracture of the skull as the result of being knocked down by a bicycle ridden by two schoolboys.
