LAMB’S STEAMER OMANA.—The Northern Company advises that the Lamb steamer Omana is due at Auckland on Tuesday next from Wanganui, to load for Australian ports. MATANGI’S WINTER SAILING.— Commencing from Monday next, the Northern Company’s passenger steamer Matangi will leave Auckland on Mondays and Thursdays at 6.30 p.m. for Tauranga, and will leave Tauranga on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 p.m. CARGO FROM SOUTH AUSTRALIA.— The Union Company’s collier Kawatiri was to leave Auckland at noon to-day for Newcastle for bunkers, thence Adelaide, Edithburg and Melbourne to load for New Plymouth, Portland, Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. CANADIAN TRANSPORTER DUE.— Due at Auckland at five o’clock this evening from Wellington, the Canadian National Line’s steamer Canadian Transporter wil later berth at the King’s Wharf to complete her loading. It is hoped to dispatch her finally to-morrow evening for New York, Boston, and Montreal, via Panama. PORT SYDNEY TO LOAD.—The C. and D. Line advises that the motor-ship Port Sydney is due at the Bluff on June 11 from Newcastle to commence loading for Home. She later loads at Port Chalmers, Wanganui, Napier and Wellington, and is scheduled to clear the latter port finally on June 30 for London via Panama. PORT DENISON’S PROGRAMME.— Due at Auckland on June 20 from Australia, the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Denison commences loading at this port and afterwards fills up at Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne, Waikokopu, Napier, Timaru and Lyttelton. She is to clear Lyttelton finally on July 12 for London via Las Palmas. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Company will act as the local agent at Auckland. PORT CURTIS TO LOAD. —Heather, Roberton and Company advises that the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Curtis will leave Auckland to-morrow afternoon for Napier, thence Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff to complete her discharge of New York cargo. She will afterwards commence loading at the Bluff and subsequently fill up at Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, C'pua and Auckland. She is due to return to Auckland on June 27, and is scheduled to sail finally from this port on June 30 for West of England ports via Las Palmas. PORT AUCKLAND ARRIVES.—An arrival in the stream at Auckland last evening was the C. and D. Line’s motorship Port Auckland from Opua. This morning she was berthed at the Queen’s Wharf to continue her loading under the agency of the Farmers’ Co-op Auctioneering Company. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel again to-morrow for Tokomaru Bay, thence Gisborne and Wellington to 1111 up. She is to sail finally from Wellington on June 7 for London via Las Palmas. FRUIT STEAMER WAIPAHI.—The local office of the Union Company advises that the Island fruit steamer Waipahi. which left Rarotonga at 10 o’clock last Tuesday evening for Auckland, is due here on Monday afternoon. DEVON LEAVES LAS PALMAS.—According to a cable message from Las Palmas, the Federal Line steamer Devon has left there in continuation of her voyage from Wellington to London. She called at Montevideo on May 7. WILLASTON REPORTED.—A cable message from Panama reports the departure of the steamer Willaston, en route from New York to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Wanganui.. She is due here about June 20. P. AND O. AUSTRALIAN SERVICE The P. and O. Company has arranged for all its Australian mail steamers to call at Marseilles in future, thus providing a fortnightly service- via that port without transhipment at Colombo. THE CANADIAN HIGHLANDER. — Cabled news has been received by the Canadian National Steamships that the Canadian Highlander arx*ived at Monti'eal on May 31 from Auckland, via New York and Boston. The vessel left Auckland on April 5. THE GABRIELLA. —The Gabriella is scheduled to load at Melbourne on May 28 and to complete at Sydney and Newcastle for Wanganui. The vessel is due there about the second week in June, and after discharge will sail for Greymouth, and thence to Sydney. WEST ELCAJON AT NAPIER. —To comyilete her discharge of Pacific Coast cargo, the American steamer West Elcajon arrived at Napier yesterday from TimaVu, She is to leave Napier at noon on Tuesday for the Pacific Coast to load again for New Zealand ports. LEOPOLD L. D. REPORTS.—Robert Miller and Sons, Limited. have received a wireless message from the French steamer, Leopold L. D-, stating she expects to arrive next Wednesday from Galveston, Texas. T/ie vessel has case oil for discharge at Auckland, New* Plymouth and Geelong. POOLTA FROM AUSTRALIA. —Leaving Newcastle at 5 p.m. on Wednesday for Auckland, Wellington, Timaru and Greymouth the local office of the Union Company expects the collier Poolta to arrive here on Tuesday next. The Poolta also loaded at Clarence River and Port Stephens besides Newcastle. WEST CARMONA REPORTS. —A radio message received by Henderson and Mac.-* far lane states that the American steamer West Carmona is expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at 1.30 p.m. tomorrow from the Pacific Coast. The vessel is bringing general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. INDIANOLA LEAVES NAURU ISLAND.—Advice has been received by Henderson and Macfarlane that the tramp steamer Indianola left Nauru Island yesterday with a full cargo of phosphates for discharge at Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. She is due at Lyttelton on June 4. SCHELDE PAS TO-MORROW.—Arriv-ing at Auckland to-morrow morning from Antwerp, the Belgian steamer Scheldepas will later berth at the Central Wharf to land the local portion of her basic slag under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. She later proceeds to Wellington to complete discharge. WAIOTAPU LEAVES PAPEETE. — Cable advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the trans-Pacific cargo steamer Waiotapu, en route from the Pacific Coast, left Papeete at 2.30 p.m. last Wednesday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Melbourne and Sydney. She is due here on June 2. DERELICT PONTOON SIGHTED.— The Marine Department has received a report from the master of the Putiki stating that, on May 9, he sighted a large w*ooden pontoon, dangerous to shipping, floating at a position about nine miles north of Alderman Islands. It is expected that by now the derelict will have drifted considerably eastward of the position stated. RIMUTAKA FROM HOME. —The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company lias been advised that the liner Rimutaka arrived at Wellington at 7.45 a.m. to-day from London and Southampton. The vessel has passengers and mails for disembarkation at Wellington and cargo for discharge at Wellington and Auckland. She is due here about Thursday next. MAUI POMARE LEAVES APlA.—Advice has been received by Spedding Limited that the new Government motor-ship, Maui Pomare, left Apia, Samoa, last Wednesday evening for Niue Island and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on June 1. It is hoped to dispatch her from Auckland on her first voyage on June 9, when she will leave here for Niue Island and Apia to load for New Zealand THAMES RIVER TIDAL WALI. — The Marine Department advises that, in continuation of the Thames River improvements, a three-quarter and a halftide basin wall composed of stones and boulders is now under construction. The wall will run in a westerly direction from the southern end of the existing full-tide wall toward the black and white surmount beacon, and thence eastward for 1,500 ft. As this basin-wall will be covered at high water, the passage of vessels is prohibited south of Burke Street Wharf and eastward of a line drawn between the black surmount entrance beacon and the white surmount sewer beacon.
