NEW LYNN TOWN BOARD

DRAINAGE TENDERS DISCUSSED Ten tenders for draining operations in the Kelston area were received at a meeting of the New Lynn Town Board on Tuesday. Mr. W. L. Titchener presided. The tenders were referred to the board’s engineer, and the acceptance of the lowest tender, that of Mr. P. H. Goss, for £3,200, was subsequently recommended. Seven of the tenders for the work were under £4,000. The condition of Wattle Street was stressed by a strong deputation which waited on the board and asked for improvements. An undertaking that immediate attention would be given to the water-tables was given by the chairman.
