PAKURANGA HUNT

MID-WEEK MEET ONE KILL EFFECTED The mid-w'eek meet of the Pakurangu, Hunt Club was held at Kelly’s Corner, Papatoetoe, yesterday. There was a large number of riders following the hounds, and some very enjoyable runs were had. A Government House party attended, including Mrs. Haviland. Lord Waleron, and Captain Orr-Ewing. Hares were very scarce at the staj;t and several unsuccessful draws w'ere made, but later in the day the hounds were more successful. For the early part of the hunt most of the runs led toward Flat Bush, the quarries making for earth, but the final run of the day was a good long chase. A good strong hare was located on Mr. Watts’s farm, and leading the chase through Messrs. Stonex’s, Baker’s, and Matthews’s managed to elude the pack. One kill was registered on Mr. Marriner’s estate. Mr. H. Bullock-Webster, master of the hunt, was in charge.
