HOSPITAL LEVY PROTEST

TAKAPUNA’S VOICE ADDED The Takapuna Borough Council expressed the opinion last evening that the Hospital Board’s levy this year is exhorbitant. The sinking fund of 10 per cent, on permanent buildings and the present method of relief were questioned. This year’s levy is £2,745 12s, an increase of £570 on last year. The Mayor, Mr. J. W. Williamson, and a member of the Legal and Finance Committee were appointed delegates to the proposed conference of local bodies.
