BUSINESSMEN DIVIDED COST TO BE £I,BOO When it was recommended to the Council of th© Auckland Chamber oi Commerce yesterday that funds be given toward the production of an Auckland booklet, the president, Mr. T. T. Merritt, said this was virtually the parting of the ways as to whether the chamber should use its surplus revenue for an apparently outside object. There appeared to be a feeling that members should be circularised for support for the project. It was suggested by one member that the circulars might as well be resigned to the waste papet basket immediately. Another Member: Many of the booklets will be. It was reported that the City Council had agreed to give £SOO, and the Auckland Power Board £-50 toward the cost of the publication, 100,000 copies of which would cost in the vicinity of £I,BOO.
