AUCKLAND UNEMPLOYMENT "COMMITTEE AT WITS’ END” That unemployment in Auckland was over was strongly denied by Mr. William Wallace, chairman of the Hospital Board, at yesterday’s meeting. “I believe that the next few months will be the worst we have yet known,” he declared. “After that things may clear up.” Members of the relief committee are at their wits’ end to know what to do . . The relief has been carried out as economically as possible. Unemployment relief, he said, was a matter for the Government, and should come from the Consolidated Fund. The burden should not fall upon the hospital boards.
