Only the British Can Solve India's Problems, Says Maharajah
Received 1.24 p.m. LONDON, Monday. Maharajah of Burdwan made a remarkable declaration in the Caxton Hall. Speaking of the Simon Commission and Indian reforms generally he said that if India tired of the white rule, and if the British tired of ruling India, then India must be prepared to be ruled, either by the yellow races or the brown races, whose religion was other than Hinduism, or by Soviet Russia. He added: “Let India choose. I may be called unpatriotic and even a traitor by those who want an independent India, but I take the British connection to be the only solution of India’s problems.” H™.
