The tercentenary celebrations are to be held in London this week of ti e publication by'William Harvey, who discovered the circulation of thf blood, of his book, “De Motu Cbrdis” (“On the Movement of the Heart”). William Harvey, son of a Kentish farmer, was born in Folkestone in 157 V. and was at Canterbury Grammar School and Caius College, Cambridge. He studied at Padua, Italy, and became a doctor of medicine in 1602. In 1607 he admitted a member of the Royal Colh-ge of Physicians. In 1616 he first propounded his theories on the movements of the heart and blood.
