FAREWELL PARTY

FOR DIOMEDE MEN Mr. arid Mrs. Skinner gave a very enjoyable dance party on Saturday evening at the Methodist Hall, Grey Lynn, as a farewell to some of (he company of H.M.S. Diomede. Between 90 and 100 guests were present. The dances were interspersed with games, and musical and other items were given by Mrs. Reeves, Miss Laura Skinner, and Miss McLeod, and by Messrs. Crook, McKenzie, and Master McLeod. Mr. Fred Bertram, M.P., wished the men of the Diomede au revoir and good luck. Mrs. Skinner wore a pretty flared frock of blue velvet, to receive her -guests, who included: Mrs. F. N. Bartram, black net and Egyptian silver. Mrs. Reeves, blue lace over red satin. Miss Crooke, flame beaded georgette. Miss Beare, green silk georgette. Miss Napa, black beaded over green georgette. Miss Peckham, blue tinsel and georgette. Miss Ina Christins, black sequins and green satin. Miss Spinley, moonlight ninon over crepe de chine. Miss Hall, heliotrope satin crepe. Miss M. Skinner, blue shot taffeta. Miss D. Shanks, green crepe de chine frock. Miss L. Shanks, red crepe de chine and posy. Miss Vera Shanks, sky-blue georgette and silver lace.
