MUSEUM PACKS UP

PREPARING FOR REMOVAL "With the exception of the large war canoe in the Auckland Museum, the carved houses and a few other large objects, the whole of the ethnoligical collections have been reclassified, packed, and removed to store. This is part of the plan of the museum authorities for transferring the whole of the collection to the new museum in the Domain. The wall cases in the old building have been dismantled and divided into sections for installation as storage cases in the new museum, and the reconditioning of the large carved Maori houses is now in hand.
