WAIKATO HUNT

MEET AT FENCOURT (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Sunday. The Waikato Hunt Club’s season was opened in perfect weather yesterday at Fencourt. There was a large of visitors, among whom were enthusiasts from Morrinsville, Te Aroha, Matamata, Waingaro, Auckland and the King Country. About 70 riders took part in the hunt, while 100 motorists watched the hounds. The first hare was put up within a few minutes of starting and led the pack over half a dozen farms for half an hour before it was killed. Several excellent runs followed, one taking the hunt into the outskirts of Cambridge. Three kills were registered during the afternoon. At 4 p.m. the hounds were called off and the hunters and visitors were entertained to afternoon tea by the master of the hounds. Mr. Wynn Brown.
