CHURCH SITE SELECTED The question of a suitable site for a church at Gordonton has been th* subject of considerable d:scusskowing to a difference of opinion u to which of two sites was the more sun able. On Thursday morning the Bishop o Waikato and Dean Barnett n*Messrs. Clark. Jenkins. Bridgman, Dw. mond, W. Dalbeth (committee). Clear Whittaker, Cleland and Harman, representing local parishioners, at Gordonton, and after inspecting the rinl sites, adjourned to the hall for a round-table talk. Mr. P. Cleary moved that the question of building a church be deferrec till after the winter, and in the meartime social gatherings be arranged t bring all parishioners together and so help to create a united feeling. Be offered to withdraw all opposition to the central site on dairy company land. This generous offer was cordially received and it was decided to act on his suggestion. Now all look forvrair to seeing a dignified church erected in the spring. On the motion of Mr. Cleary it was also resolved to thank the bishop for his efforts to bring about a happy solution and to assure him of sympathy in the difficulties he is meeting in the diocese, and of Gordonton? whole-hearted support in the work t>: the church.
