WAITEMATA STATISTICS CONNECTIONS TOTAL 5,610 Figures submitted by Mr. F. J. H. "Wilson, secretary-engineer of the Waitemata Power Board at its meeting to-day, estimated the total number of connections as 5,610, the more important districts being Devonport 1,978 connections; New Lynn, 784; Takapuna, 738; and Birkenhead, 622. Total route miles were 267, being an increase of 70 miles during the year. There was a total connected load of 10,074 k.w., made up by lighting, 1,628; heating, 3,676; cooking, 2,771; water heating, 351; industrial power, 1,414; milking motors, 96; street lighting, 138. Net revenue a unit averaged 2.4 d. Power cost 0.51 d a unit and working costs I.lßd.
