“NOT LEAST ACHIEVEMENT”

CONSERVATIVE PARTY AND WOMEN’S VOTES British Official Wireless Reed. 10.52 a.m. RUGBY, Friday. Addressing a mass meeting of women in London, the Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Baldwin, referred to the passing by the House of Commons of the Bill giving votes to women at the age of 21, on the same terms as men. He said it was difficult to realise the amount of history that lay behind the passing of the Bill, and added: “I am proud to think it has been given to the Conservative Party to secure the triumph of that cause. I believe in the years to come that will not be reckoned the least achievement of our great party.”
